Wendy Johnson is the President and Founder of Touch of Grey Rescue, a 501c3 non-profit organization that saves over 100 senior and special needs dogs every year. Wendy graduated from SUNY Cobleskill with an AAS in Early Childhood Development, and received a BS degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta. Wendy’s combined passion for dog rescue and education led her to create the Farkle and Friends book series, which stars her narcoleptic American bully named Farkle. Farkle Finds His Furever Home and ‘Twas the Night Before Dogmas are currently available for purchase and the third book in the series, Tucker and the Rainbow Bridge, is slated for release in 2025. Wendy and her husband Pete live in Upstate NY with their daughter Jenny and their two rescue dogs Farkle and Kiara.
Sixteen years ago after many years in the video game industry, Leslie Harrington, was chosen as the new illustrator of Goofus and Gallant, Highlights Magazine’s 77-year-old comic strip about two boys whose exploits conveniently open doors to lessons about manners, friendship and, basically, being a good person. Yes, THAT Highlights Magazine, the one we all read while waiting in dentist and doctor offices.
Today, she’s a busy freelancer working with independent authors, educational and Christian publishers plus creating illustrations for art licensing. Her studio overlooks the Snoqualmie Valley in Washington state. She shares the view with her husband Mike and their two rescue kitties, Franklin and Madison.
